The History of Sunteck Transport Group
It's 1976 . . .
• Gerald Ford is President – Jimmy Carter is elected in November
• The U.S. celebrates its Bicentennial
• Rocky is the top grossing film
• Charlie's Angels and the Muppet Show premier
• Gasoline costs $0.59 gallon
• The U.S. median household income is $12,686
• AutoInfo, Sunteck's parent, is formed (so is Apple Computer)
From its humble beginnings more than three decades ago as a start-up to its current place as an emerging leader in the transportation marketplace, Sunteck's parent company, AutoInfo, Inc., has strived to achieve service excellence and integrity. Through a number of business transformations and changes in company goals and leadership, AutoInfo's operating subsidiary, Sunteck, is poised for significant growth. From 2006 to 2009, our business has more than doubled.
In 2000, Harry Wachtel, president and CEO, joined AutoInfo. Armed with a new business plan that focused on agent development, Harry, Bill Wunderlich (CFO) and the entire Sunteck team set out to achieve a number of core objectives during Sunteck's fast-track into the transportation brokerage business. Working as a team, the company strengthened its balance sheet and secured the support of investors by focusing its resources on its most productive business units; and developing a more disciplined, efficient organization through the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and lowering its overall operating costs.
Today, Sunteck is a mature, financially-stable enterprise with 60 agent offices throughout the United States and Canada – bringing Sunteck customers compelling value, reliable communication, and excellent service.
